What to know...

"Strategies"
Cover or structure is important to trout, and they are more likely to be found near submerged rocks and logs, undercut banks, and overhanging vegetation. Also protects them from warmer water. More often found in heavy and strong currents.
Breeding season is between June and September. It is not recommended to fish for trout during breeding season as females filled with eggs will be caught and stressed. Trout breed in flowing water and eggs released in still water will die...
"Food"
Aggressive and eat fish. Their diets frequently include invertebrates from the streambed, other fish, frogs, mice, birds, and insects flying near the water's surface. The high dietary reliance upon insect larvae, pupae, nymphs and live or dead baitfish.
